The German baritone is a regular guest at the international opera and concert stages, where he is singing the important roles of his repertoire. As Musiklehrer/ „Ariadne auf Naxos“ he gave his debuts at the Metropolitan Opera New York and at the Wiener Staatsoper, he also sang this role at the Staatsoper Berlin, the Semperoper Dresden, the Scala Milano, the Theater an der Wien and at the Philadelphia Opera. Alberich in „Rheingold“ he sang for he first time in 2008 at the Aalto Theater in Essen, this role he interpreted afterwards in the new production as well as in all revivals of the complete „Ring des Nibelungen“ at the Oper Frankfurt as well as in concert with the RSB Orchestra in the Philharmonie in Berlin. Both these „Ring“-cycles have been released on CD and DVD. After his role debut as Kurwenal/ „Tristan und Isolde“ at the Opera National de Lyon in 2011 he will sing this role in again in 2013 in a new production at the Wiener Staatsoper and in 2014 at the Bastille in Paris. In Paris he will also perform in 2013 as Peter in a new production of „Hänsel und Gretel“ and as Dr. Kolenatý in „Vĕc Makropulos“. The role of Dr. Kolenaty he sang for the first time at the Salzburger Festspiele in 2011. After his role debut as Wozzeck in Dortmund in 2004 he interpreted this role at the Gran Teatro del Liceu Barcelona, the Teatro Real in Madrid and at the Staatsoper Hamburg. Furteher engagements lead him among others as Amfortas/ „Parsifal“ at the Oper Frankfurt and at the Teatro Regio in Turin, as Don Pizarro/ „Fidelio“ at the Semperoper Dresden, as 4 Villains/ „Hoffmanns Erzählungen“ at the Volksoper Wien, as Faninal/ „Der Rosenkavalier“ at the San Francisco Opera and the Staatsoper Berlin, where he also performed Biterolf/ „Tannhäuser“, Klingsor/„Parsifal“, Beckmesser/ „Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg“ and Frank/ „Die Fledermaus“. On the concert stage he sang among others Cerha’s „Baal-Gesänge“ in the Konzerthaus Wien, Schubert’s „Alfonso und Estrella“/Mauregato with the Berliner Philharmoniker, „Johannespassion“/ Jesus in Madrid, Mahler’s songs from „Des Knaben Wunderhorn“ in Bregenz and his „8. Sinfonie“ as well as Janacek’s „Glagolitic Mass“ in Dallas. With the Gulbenkian Orchestra Lisbon and with the Konzerthausorchester Berlin he sang concert performances of „Elektra“/Orest.
